Top of the World orginated in Alaska where Ray and his family spent time while he was in the U.S. Air Force. When time permitted, they would venture out and fish Alaska's rivers with Dan Hunt, the Keaners and many others. Ray enjoyed bow hunting the tundra with Bob Summers for caribou.
Ray had a salmon mounted for his son and when finished the mount wasn't to his liking so he visited Alaska Wilderness Arts & Taxidermy where his mentor Charlie Livingston took him under his wing and taught him the art of taxidermy. Ray is forever grateful for the knowledge and experience from his close friend Charlie.
Ray and his family traveled back to their native state of Maine where his taxidermy would grow from a small unheated garage to a new shop and studio in Benedicta.
"I wouldn't be where I am today if it weren't for Charlie's tutelage, the gracious generosity of Pat & Buster Guiggey and most of all the love of my wife Deb, son, Nick and daughter Vanessa." Ray's studio is named after Deb's Dad.
